Job summary

Fosforo Lounge, part of Loungers, is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. You’ll support the Head Chef, lead shifts, and ensure every dish leaving the pass is cooked to a high standard.

This role offers a 48-hour contract (40-hour option), a competitive base salary with bonus and overtime, and clear progression opportunities within a growing hospitality brand.

Qualifications

• Passionate cook with pride in fresh ingredients and consistent plating.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Leads by example and supports the Head Chef in daily operations.
• Experience as Sous Chef or Chef de Partie or junior sous chef.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts, ensuring service runs smoothly and on spec.
• Support the Head Chef and stand in during absences.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene and safety on the pass.
• Oversee prep, par, stock, waste and shift handovers.

What you’ll Do

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth, organised and on spec from prep through to the final plate
• Be the Head Chefs right hand - supporting day-to-day operations, stepping up in their absence, and helping the kitchen deliver consistently strong results
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, with a sharp eye for food quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety
• Take ownership of key kitchen routines including prep and par, stock control, waste, orders and effective shift handovers
• Coach and support the team around you, helping new and existing chefs build confidence, grow their skills and deliver great food every shift
