Job summary

Genting Casinos in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an experienced sous chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis (40 hours per week). You will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, drive the profitability of the restaurant and deliver exceptional dishes that satisfy our guests.

The role requires proven sous chef experience, leadership of a kitchen team, stock planning and adherence to food hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a sous chef or equivalent.
• Ability to direct and motivate kitchen staff to deliver excellent service.
• Knowledge of food hygiene procedures and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Direct the kitchen team to ensure high-quality, efficient service.
• Organise and plan stock and food preparation.
• Maintain a clean, compliant working environment and uphold licensing laws.

Key skills and responsibilities include:

• Previous experience as a sous chef.
• Directing team members to deliver an excellent, efficient service.
• Organising and planning stock and food preparation.
• Maintain a clean working environment, compliant with company standards, food hygiene procedures and legislation, and licensing laws at all times.
• Positive work ethic and ability to be flexible with a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Passionate about great food and the drive to excel in your field.
• An effective team player who contributes to continuous business improvement.
• Ability to work in a pressured environment.
• Being flexible and able to work a variety of shifts including night shifts and weekends.
