Job summary

Anchor Point Neurological Centre is seeking a Sous Chef to support the kitchen team in delivering high quality meals and a positive dining experience for residents. You will assist in preparing and presenting meals, ensuring dietary needs are met while maintaining safety and hygiene standards.

You will work collaboratively with the catering team and also independently when required, contributing to a well‑organised kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering, Hospitality or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Care home experience desirable.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety and COSHH.
• Flexible and reliable approach.
• Strong commitment to high-quality service.
• Friendly, polite and caring attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About Anchor Point Neurological Centre

Anchor Point Neurological Centre is a purpose-built specialist neurological care and rehabilitation centre in Nursling, Southampton. Supporting adults with complex neurological conditions and injuries, the centre provides personalised rehabilitation and long-term neurological care focused on promoting independence and quality of life. With modern facilities, dedicated therapy spaces, a physiotherapy gym and a supportive environment, colleagues work as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team to make a meaningful difference to the people we support.

Sous Chef Contract

• £31,993 per annum
• 40 hours per week
• Days
• Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
• 28 days annual leave (pro rata for part time), inclusive of Bank Holidays

Role Overview

As a Sous Chef, you will support the kitchen team in providing high quality meals and a positive dining experience for the people we support.

Working alongside the wider catering team, you will help prepare and deliver meals to a high standard, maintaining consistency, quality and presentation while meeting individual dietary requirements and preferences.

The role requires a strong focus on food hygiene, health and safety and COSHH standards, ensuring the kitchen and food preparation areas are maintained safely and effectively.

You will contribute to a positive and well‑organised kitchen environment, working collaboratively with colleagues while also being confident working independently when required.

What We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering, Hospitality or equivalent
• Previous experience working in a catering or kitchen environment
• Experience within a care home environment is desirable
