This award-winning stunning hotel is seeking an exceptional and accomplished Sous Chef to join and help lead the kitchen team.

Role Overview

As Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in running the kitchen, enabling the team to achieve the highest levels of food quality, standards, and service at all times — including a 4-day workweek!

Main Duties
  1. Act as a deputy with all responsibilities as required.
  2. Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized environment at all times.
  3. Plan the daily operations of all kitchen sections to meet service standards.
  4. Control operating costs with the aid of the Head Chef, including food ordering and inventory management.
  5. Assist in producing accurate stock takes and carry out quality checks on stock, produce, and dishes.
  6. Provide training and foster understanding of products to keep the team focused and evolving as chefs.
  7. Respond flexibly to business and client needs, offering support and guidance to colleagues in difficult situations.
  8. Manage staff rotas according to business levels.
  9. Ensure daily food preparation aligns with recipes and specifications regarding size, quantity, and quality.
  10. Participate in relevant meetings to stay informed about hotel operations.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role and environment.
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guild 7061/7062 or NVQ Level 2/3.
  • Experience with ordering systems and cost control processes.
  • Hands-on team player with experience in training and coaching.
