Temporary Sous Chef - Pub with Rooms in Mid Wales

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a charming pub with rooms, located in beautiful Mid Wales close to the sea. This is a temporary position, starting as soon as possible until at least the end of July and is ideal for someone looking to work in a scenic location, cooking both traditional pub fare and seasonal dishes.

About the Role:As a Temporary Sous Chef, you'll be supporting the current kitchen brigade in running the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards. This role will involve a mix of preparing seasonal menus, pub classics and helping to manage kitchen operations over the summer period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the existing team to support in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Prepare and cook high-quality pub dishes
  • Ensure all food is presented to the highest standard and served promptly
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to food safety regulations
  • Manage stock levels and assist with ordering
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team to maintain a smooth service

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment
  • A passion for good quality British cooking and classic pub dishes
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage kitchen staff in a busy environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
