Sous Chef – High-Performing Venue in Rufford, Ormskirk
Location: Rufford, Ormskirk
Job Type: Full Time | 5 Days Over 7 | 40 hours plus overtime
Salary: from £32,000 - £34,000 + tips & Benefits
Our client is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join their busy, high-performing venue in Rufford, Ormskirk. Known for its warm hospitality and quality food, this venue is due for an exciting refurbishment in the coming months.
About the Role:
You will support the Head Chef in delivering a menu that celebrates British pub classics alongside seasonal and seafood specials, all made using fresh, high-quality ingredients. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your culinary skills, lead a dedicated kitchen team, and contribute to a thriving venue’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and smooth service
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team during busy periods
• Ensure excellent standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene
• Support menu development, including classic pub dishes and seasonal seafood specials
• Manage stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation
• Train and develop junior kitchen staff
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
Who We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie, preferably with British pub cuisine and seafood experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Passionate about fresh, seasonal produce and traditional recipes
• Committed to high kitchen standards and teamwork
