Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Senior CDP ready to advance
• Passion for quality ingredients and creative cooking
• High standards in food prep, presentation and consistency
• Ability to support, lead and motivate a kitchen team
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
• Positive, hands-on approach and strong work ethic
• Solid understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
• Maintain high quality and presentation of dishes
• Contribute ideas for menu development and seasonal specials
• Manage stock, deliveries and kitchen organisation
• Support and develop other kitchen team members
• Ensure smooth service during peak times

The Bird in Hand in North Curry is looking for a talented, passionate and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who takes pride in producing quality food, enjoys working in a busy kitchen and wants to play an important role in delivering an outstanding dining experience.

Working alongside the Head Chef, you'll help maintain high standards, contribute creative ideas to the menu and ensure every dish leaving the kitchen reflects our commitment to quality.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to take the next step

• A genuine passion for quality ingredients and creative cooking

• High standards of food preparation, presentation and consistency

• The ability to support, lead and motivate a kitchen team

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure

• A positive, hands-on approach and a strong work ethic

• A good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety

• Someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team

The role
