Full training will be given on our menu and daily operations, but you will need to hit the ground running. It is vital that you are comfortable with a grill, reading tickets, and delegating food orders to the correct stations/chefs. The Real Greek is a family, and we are looking for someone who will motivate the staff and help train and build the team with our Head Chef.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day management of the Kitchen

  • Ensure the Kitchen operates to TRG Standards.
  • Support and communicate regularly and effectively with the Head Chef.
  • Ensure correct prep levels and instructions are left for Chefs / Kitchen Porters.
  • Assist in managing and accounting for stock levels.
  • Maintain and service the kitchen as required.
  • Work towards meeting audit expectations.
  • Lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to remain calm and work under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Financial awareness and strong organizational skills.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others.

Food Quality, Presentation, and Hygiene

  • Attend health & safety and food safety training.
  • Ensure all food is prepared with the freshest ingredients to TRG standards.
  • Ensure kitchen staff are preparing and presenting quality food following correct standards.
  • Report issues with food quality and freshness from suppliers or the Central Kitchen.
  • Follow stock labelling (DOT system) and rotation system (FIFO).
  • Communicate any equipment issues.
  • Check the quality and quantity of all received produce.
  • Complete all kitchen paperwork correctly, including cleaning schedules and temperature checks.

Development of the Kitchen Team

  • Support the Head Chef in training kitchen candidates.
  • Manage and develop the kitchen team through training and feedback.
