Job Title: Sous-Chef

We are seeking a Sous-Chef to create nutritious and well-balanced meals in collaboration with the Head Chef, ensuring they meet Athena standards and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining consistent food standards during all stages of production and service.
  • Adhering to HACCP procedures according to Athena’s Food Safety Management documentation.
  • Maintaining proper use of the company’s due diligence framework, cleaning, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Supporting quality control and hygiene systems.
  • Purchasing food and related products from company-nominated suppliers when required.
  • Assisting in achieving food budget controls, minimizing waste, and developing menus for a balanced diet for residents.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have good communication skills.
  • Work well within a team.
  • Be driven and proactive.
  • Handle pressure effectively.
  • Have good time management skills.

Your Skills

  • Hold a relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in catering.
  • Experience in the care sector is preferred.
