Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
Salary: Competitive Salary From £32,000 PA, Depending on Experience.
Location: Woolverstone, Ipswich. IP9.
Schedule: 45 Hours per week - Hours vary 5 over 7 days per week, including evenings and weekends.
About The Role:
Based at a sailing club which is very busy during the Summer months, but then open only for weekends during low-season (and closed Christmas day). Cooking lunches, making baked counter items, hot dishes for both lunch and evening, and catering for in-house and external events. Must be able to work well under pressure, be efficient and keep their workstation clean and tidy.
The right person will work alongside the head chef, however, will need to work autonomously and oversee the kitchen day-to-day. Will be required to support the head chef in food preparation for outside events, as well as with menu development and any hygiene matters. They will need someone who can be independent on food service months and must be a team player.
Responsibilities Include:
Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
Assist in the development and execution of menu items
Ensure all food products are properly stored, rotated, and labelled
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations
Assist in training and supervising kitchen staff
Monitor food production to ensure consistency and quality
Follow all company policies and procedures
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Line Cook
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team
Proficient in food safety and sanitation practices
Strong knowledge of food production techniques and recipe execution
Ability to help develop new menu items and contribute to menu planning
Experience supervising kitchen staff and managing a team
