Job summary

A leading elderly care provider is looking for a Sous Chef in Huntingdon to support the head chef and lead a culinary team in providing high-quality services. The ideal candidate will have a relevant catering qualification and a minimum of 1 year of catering experience. This full-time position offers a salary of £13.50 per hour and a supportive environment dedicated to creating meaningful lives for residents.

Overview

Avery Healthcare is one of the UK's largest providers of luxury elderly care homes. We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Sous Chef to join our award-winning team and make a positive impact on residents' lives every day.

Responsibilities
  • Support the head chef in leading a culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality culinary service, achieving this within budget.
  • Prepare modified diets that look appealing and are well-balanced in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
  • Supervise and direct the work of culinary staff, providing instruction to unqualified staff on simple food preparation activities as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Understand and apply safe food handling principles to maintain high hygiene standards in the kitchen.
  • Support all culinary team members in fully understanding the Avery Food safety management system.
