Job summary

Warner Hotels Group is seeking a talented Sous Chef at Thoresby Hall to lead daily kitchen operations and uphold branded standards. You will supervise junior staff, ensure top-tier food safety and manage stock and costs to support financial targets.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure stations are prepared for service.
• Supervise and train junior chefs, promoting teamwork.
• Ensure food safety, proper storage, handling and cooking techniques.
• Monitor inventory and manage food costs to meet targets.
• Support Head Chef in maintaining guest satisfaction and responding to feedback.

Join our team at Thoresby Hall, part of the Warner Hotels Group. This 221-bedroom hotel features original architecture, a Great Hall with deep armchairs, and overlooks acres of classic parkland.

Salary: £29,000 - £35,000

What will I be doing?

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring all stations are properly organised and prepared for service.
• Supervising and training junior chefs, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Ensuring food safety standards are always adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and cooking techniques.
• Monitoring inventory levels and managing food costs to meet financial targets.
• Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and responding to guest feedback

• A Sous Chef who understands the importance of working in a branded environment.
• You will have the ability to create a culture of support and actively encourages teamwork.
• Willingness to challenge if standards aren’t meeting required levels.
• A chef with a passion for great food and service.

What skills do I need?

• Understands the important of working with a branded menu.
• Experience of managing orders, food stocks and forecast against occupancy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and can adapt quickly to changing requirements.
• Good financial knowledge with the ability to manage costs in line with the department’s budget.
