Job summary

COREcruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef in Greenwich, London, offering £37,000 inclusive of tronc. You will join a unique wine bar and restaurant, working with fresh, seasonal produce on a British-led menu.

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver high standards across the kitchen, involved in daily service, menu development, prep and ordering, while leading and supporting the kitchen team.

Sous Chef, Greenwich, London, £37,000 inclusive of tronc

We are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen team of a unique wine bar and restaurant in Greenwich.

This is a hands-on role working with fresh, seasonal produce and a British-led menu. The venue has a strong focus on quality, with an à la carte restaurant alongside private events and other food-led occasions.

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver consistently high standards across the kitchen. You will be involved in daily service, menu development, prep and ordering, while helping to lead and support the wider kitchen team.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen


• Cooking fresh, seasonal British food to a high standard


• Working across the à la carte menu and events


• Maintaining excellent food quality and presentation


• Helping with menu development and seasonal changes


• Managing kitchen sections during busy services


• Supporting and developing junior chefs


• Maintaining strong standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation


• Helping to manage stock, ordering and food costs

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef


• A solid background in fresh food kitchens


• Good knowledge of British and seasonal cooking


• Someone who enjoys working with quality ingredients


• A hands-on chef who leads from the front


• Good organisation and communication skills


• Comfortable working across both restaurant service and events


• A positive approach and the ability to work well within a small team
