Job description

Sous Chef – Nursing Home
Location:Ashton-under-Lyne
Hourly Rate:£13.40 per hour

Shifts:7am-6pm
Hours:36 hours per week

Our client, a well-established nursing home in Ashton-under-Lyne, is currently seeking an experienced care home chefto join their kitchen team as a sous chef. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a care-focused environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for elderly residents. You will never work alone; you’ll always have a kitchen assistant working along-side with you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with our client's menus, tailored to meet residents' individual dietary needs.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety in line with regulatory requirements (CQC, Environmental Health).
  • Collaborate with care staff and Chefs to ensure a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and effective stock rotation.
  • Assist with menu planning and food ordering as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Cook/Chef in a care home or nursing home setting is essential.
  • Understanding of varied dietary requirements, allergens, and texture-modified diets.
