Job summary

Pizza Pilgrims Wimbledon is seeking a Second Pizza Chef to join the opening team and lead our kitchen to deliver premium Neapolitan pizza. The role focuses on team leadership, quality control, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations during this exciting opening phase.

You will drive health & safety compliance, manage stock, and contribute to successful guest launches while upholding our standards of hospitality and happiness. This is a pivotal role in a growing, award-winning brand.

• Proven track record in Neapolitan pizza operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen team to deliver high-quality Neapolitan pizza.
• Ensure health & safety compliance across the kitchen.
• Manage stock, par levels and waste, with audits.
• Coordinate successful guest pizza launches and menu changes.
• Oversee kitchen maintenance and equipment care.
• Uphold food quality standards and guest satisfaction.

Pizza Pilgrims Wimbledon has been a very successful opening and we’re looking for a brilliant Second Pizza Chef to join the opening team.

In 2012, Thom & James drove a Piaggio ape Tuk Tuk all the way from Sicily to London on a 'Pilgrimage' to learn the secrets of perfect Italian pizza. They went on to set up a market stall in Soho with an oven in the back of the van before opening their first actual pizzeria on Dean Street. Nowadays we have over 20 award-winning pizzerias across the UK, we’ve got our own Pizza Academy where we run training workshops every day, and we’re also a BCORP - something we’re extremely proud about achieving. We pride ourselves on using the best ingredients from Naples including Caputo flour, fresh fior di latte, salsiccia e friarielle , to make the best Neapolitan pizza every day.

As a Second Chef, you’ll be a specialist in creating the best Neapolitan Pizza’s, and for every guest to leave with a full belly, and already planning their next visit. You’ll also be accountable for:
