Job summary

Bella Italia in United Kingdom is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in Glasgow. You will help organise service, prep and deliver high‑quality dishes, while guiding junior staff and maintaining clean standards.

You’ll work closely with the head chef to ensure dishes meet spec, support stock management, and contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen culture. This is a hands‑on role in a busy restaurant environment.

• Organise, coordinate, and deliver service across one or more sections in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Work closely unsupervised and with the kitchen team to produce delicious dishes to specification.
• Support and guide chefs, kitchen assistants and porters.
• Ensure the kitchen is prepped and organised for service.
• Maintain a spotless kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Complete opening and closing checklists, ensuring daily and weekly cleaning schedules are carried out to legal and brand standards.
• Take responsibility for ordering stock.
• Ensure the kitchen stock deficit is minimised by being responsible for food stock security.
• Lead the kitchen team and take additional responsibilities in the head chef's absence.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties, as requested.
