Loungers plc is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to join Caballo Lounge's kitchen team. You’ll lead service, support the Head Chef and ensure every plate meets our high standards, while developing the team in a lively hospitality environment.

The role offers a 48-hour contract (with a 40-hour option), overtime, and a competitive bonus scheme. There are real progression opportunities across the Loungers group.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie.
• Passion for fresh ingredients and high standards.
• Ability to lead and develop junior staff.
• Willingness to work 48-hour contract or 40-hour option.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, ensuring service runs smoothly.
• Support Head Chef and cover in their absence as needed.
• Maintain high standards on the pass for quality and hygiene.

What you'll Do

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth, organised and on spec from prep through to the final plate
• Be the Head Chef's right hand - supporting day-to-day operations, stepping up in their absence, and helping the kitchen deliver consistently strong results
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, with a sharp eye for food quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety
• Take ownership of key kitchen routines including prep and par, stock control, waste, orders and effective shift handovers
• Coach and support the team around you, helping new and existing chefs build confidence, grow their skills and deliver great food every shift
