Job summary

Loungers plc is hiring a full-time Sous Chef for Curio Lounge, a popular local café bar within Loungers. You’ll lead the kitchen team, support the Head Chef, and ensure every dish leaving the pass meets high standards.

A 48-hour contract is available with potential for growth across our 300+ sites across England and Wales. We offer a competitive base salary with bonus and overtime, along with progression opportunities through in-house training and development programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie ready to take next step.
• Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth and on spec from prep to final plate.
• Be the Head Chef’s right hand—support daily operations and step up in their absence.
• Set high standards on the pass for quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
• Take ownership of prep, par, stock, waste, orders and shift handovers.
• Coach and develop the team to deliver great food every shift.

What you’ll Do

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth, organised and on spec from prep through to the final plate
• Be the Head Chef’s right hand — supporting day-to-day operations, stepping up in their absence, and helping the kitchen deliver consistently strong results
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, with a sharp eye for food quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety
• Take ownership of key kitchen routines including prep and par, stock control, waste, orders and effective shift handovers
• Coach and support the team around you, helping new and existing chefs build confidence, grow their skills and deliver great food every shift
