Job Title: Sous Chef

Location: Hartpury University, Gloucester, GL19 3BE

Working hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, working 5 days over 7, shift pattern TBC

Hourly Rate/Salary: £35,000

Aramark UK are currently looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Sous Chef to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of in-house food.

You will be working as part of a fantastic team, serving customers, and providing excellent customer service throughout. You will be required to perform basic food preparation and general cleaning tasks both back and front-of-house.

You must be able to drive and have regular access to a car.

A day in the life of a Sous Chef:

  • You will be running shifts and guiding your team when the Head Chef is not present, producing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - so organisation and the ability to thrive under pressure is required!
  • You will be organising and supporting your team to ensure a smooth operation daily, allocating tasks so that your team and time are fully utilised.
  • You will be producing food in line with recipe sheets, and have full knowledge of all menu items served, including allergen information.
  • Management of production and food levels to ensure minimal wastage. You will also be placing orders and keeping records of any stock wastage, alongside receiving deliveries, and ensuring they are stored correctly, and the FIFO method is followed.
  • Carrying out deep cleans daily / weekly alongside your team, ensuring all staff are fully trained on their sections and have undertaken any relevant training as required.
You will be set up for success if you have:
  • Resided in the UK for the past 3 years and have a legal right to work in the UK.
  • The ability to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Relevant culinary qualification or at least 2 years on the job experience acting as either a Sous or a Senior CDP
  • A trade test will be required for the interview.
