Job summary

Mitchells & Butlers PLC is hiring a Sous Chef for Toby Carvery Carlisle. You’ll lead a kitchen section, train your team, and step in for the Head Chef as needed. The role emphasizes delivering great food, staff development, and reliable service within a branded menu.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team and running a section.
• Ability to train and develop junior chefs and kitchen staff.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a kitchen section, ensuring teamwork and smooth service.
• Train and inspire the team to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Support Head Chef with food ordering, prep and stock control.
• Ensure adherence to branded menus and health & hygiene regulations.
• Oversee and guide Chefs and kitchen staff during service.
• Maintain discipline and motivate the team to achieve targets.
