Qualifications

37.5 hours per week (rotating early and late shifts, alternate weekends)

About the role:

  • Support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operation
  • Oversee daily preparation and service for up to 500 students, staff, and guests
  • Play a key role in delivering fine dining events, banquets, and formal dinners
  • Lead and develop a team of chefs, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen policies
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or experienced Junior Sous Chef ready to step up
  • Background in banqueting, fine dining, education or high-end contract catering
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
  • Passionate about producing high-quality food with attention to detail
  • Flexible to work on a rotating shift pattern including alternate weekends
