Join Riverstation as a Sous Chef in Bristol, where you'll lead a passionate kitchen team towards Michelin and AA Rosette recognition. With at least 2 years of fine-dining experience, you will ensure culinary excellence, manage large service events, and contribute to menu innovations in a supportive environment that values ambition.
This is an exciting time to join a passionate and forward-thinking team that aims to become the best restaurant in Bristol. While not yet award-winning, we are focused on excellence and actively pursuing accolades such as Michelin and AA Rosette recognition.
With multiple dining concepts and a focus on innovation, we are building something special. We are looking for a Sous Chef who shares our ambition and commitment to world-class standards.
Please note: You must have at least 2 years’ experience in a Michelin-starred or 3 AA Rosette restaurant. Applications without this will not be considered.
Kitchen Leadership & Management: Lead and inspire the kitchen team, ensuring efficient workflow even under high pressure.
Run the pass confidently during service days exceeding 200+ covers, maintaining control, quality, and clear communication.
Maintain leadership presence in the absence of the Head Chef.
Possess a solid foundation in classical culinary techniques, with knowledge of mother sauces, stocks, and emulsions.
Proficient in meat and fish butchery, demonstrating skill and efficiency.
Uphold high standards of food presentation, taste, and consistency.
Experience in event management or high-volume catering, contributing to successful functions and private events.
Work with the Head Chef to craft seasonal, creative menus across multiple concepts and participate in tastings and guest feedback.
Adhere to food safety standards and ensure every dish meets high standards of quality and consistency.
Remain composed and effective during unexpected challenges or busy periods.
Support and mentor junior staff, fostering team development.
