Smyth & Co near Bath, Somerset, seeks an experienced Sous Chef to join a luxury countryside restaurant renowned for its seasonal produce and farm-to-table philosophy.

Working with the senior kitchen team, you will lead, mentor and develop the kitchen brigade, maintaining high standards and contributing to evolving seasonal menus, while ensuring food safety and a positive kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high‑quality restaurant, hotel or gastro-led operation.
• Passion for seasonal and produce-led cooking in the British kitchen.
• Enjoys cooking from scratch with fresh ingredients.
• Confident in mentoring and developing junior chefs.

£40,000 | 40 Hours per Week + Paid Overtime

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Sous Chef to join a beautiful, highly regarded countryside restaurant near Bath, known for its exceptional food, seasonal produce and strong farm-to-table philosophy.

The Role

Working closely with the senior kitchen team, you will:

• Support the day-to-day running of a busy, high-quality kitchen


• Work with exceptional seasonal, locally sourced and home-grown produce


• Help lead, motivate and develop the kitchen brigade


• Maintain consistently high standards across preparation and service


• Contribute to a constantly evolving, seasonally driven menu


• Support stock management, ordering and kitchen organisation


• Maintain excellent food safety and kitchen standards
