Sourcing & Supply Chain Manager

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join Capital One's UK Supplier Management Office (SMO) as a Manager.

The UK Supplier Management Office is responsible for managing the end-to-end Third Party lifecycle, including sourcing, contracting, ongoing supplier and relationship management, and offboarding activities.

We're looking for someone passionate about end-to-end supply chain management, with an interest in sourcing, sourcing best practices, and supplier management.

Reporting to our Technology & Sourcing Practice Category Leader, you'll help the business deliver its strategy, including our Technology modernisation journey. You'll partner with stakeholders to understand market options and execute buy decisions, including onboarding and managing suppliers. You will also help establish our UK Sourcing Community of Practice to build capabilities across the team.

This role offers variety and collaboration, with opportunities to work across categories and sometimes operate as a Supplier Manager across categories.

What you'll do

  1. Act as a sourcing & supply chain SME consulting on procurement strategies, processes, policies, and best practices.
  2. Lead sourcing opportunities including RFI, RFP, negotiations, and contract renewals.
  3. Collaborate with the Supplier Management team to scope, coach, and lead negotiations of commercial terms.
  4. Develop supply market knowledge, analyze industry trends, and create category-specific intelligence.
  5. Engage and influence senior leaders to approach decisions strategically, aligning with business needs and value criteria.
  6. Ensure compliance with policies and proper documentation for sourcing events.
  7. Build interaction models to stay updated on sourcing changes and plans.
  8. Support building a Sourcing Community of Practice.
  9. Manage third-party relationships, ensuring compliance with policies and effective governance, acting as the primary contact for suppliers and stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  1. Passion for end-to-end supply chain management, sourcing, and supplier management.
  2. Experience in procurement or supply chain, with sourcing skills essential and supplier management desirable.
  3. Flexibility to undertake diverse roles across the third-party lifecycle and categories.
  4. Experience in third-party relationship management.
  5. Strong commercial negotiation skills.
  6. Ability to influence at all levels, including executives.
  7. Knowledge of contracting and drafting.
  8. Stakeholder management experience, internal and external.

Location and work arrangements

This is a permanent role based in Nottingham, with a hybrid working model: three days in the office (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) and the rest remote. Flexible arrangements are considered.

Benefits

  • Contribute to a transformative organization with career progression opportunities.
  • Access to Capital One University training and external development programs.
  • Core benefits: pension, bonus, holidays, private medical insurance, and flexible benefits.
  • Modern workspaces with amenities including gyms, restaurants, and relaxation spaces.
