Jackson Hogg Ltd in Gateshead is partnering with a leading global manufacturer to recruit a Procurement and Sourcing Specialist for the Procurement team. This is a full-time, permanent role with a highly competitive salary and excellent benefits.

The role offers a 37.5 hour week, flexible start times (7-8am) and an early Friday finish, with hybrid work one day per week after training. Benefits include 25 days holiday + bank holidays, pension contributions, potential share purchase, annual bonus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (4 Year) in Supply Chain or related field or equivalent.
• CIPS preferred but not essential.
• Minimum of 4-6 years in procurement.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement Category/Commodity Strategies to minimize risk and costs.
• Negotiate Strategic Agreements reflecting price, schedule, terms, and conditions.
• Act as focal point for supplier performance risk escalation.
• Manage supplier relationships to drive cost reduction and improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of market conditions and industry trends.
• Identify alternate sources of supply and conduct supplier site visits.
• Apply Continuous Improvement to procurement processes to increase efficiency.
• Ensure stakeholders are involved in solicitation, negotiation and awards.
• Participate in High Performance Teams to improve value stream

Jackson Hogg Procurement division are pleased to be partnering with a leading, global manufacturing organisation in Gateshead on the appointment of a Procurement and Sourcing Specialist to join their Procurement team.

This is a full-time and permanent role offering a highly-competitive salary and excellent benefits. This role works a 37.5 hour working week with flexibility of start times between 7-8am and offers an early Friday finish. Hybrid working of 1 day per week WFH is available after an initial training period.

The Role:

• Define and implement Category/Commodity Strategies to minimize risk, reduce costs, and ensure best value continuity of supply. Includes spend aggregation, and supplier consolidation, rationalization, and segmentation
• Negotiate Strategic Agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions.
• Focal point within the assigned Category for supplier performance risk escalation
• Leverage and manage supplier relationships to create a competitive advantage. Works with suppliers on Continuous Improvement and cost reduction initiatives
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of market conditions and industry trends related to assigned Category
• Identifies and develops alternate sources of supply
• Conducts supplier site visits and evaluates capabilities
• Applies Continuous Improvement techniques to internal procurement processes and systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Ensures all key stakeholders are actively involved in the solicitation, negotiation, and award process.
• Actively participates in High Performance Teams to improve value stream performance

The Person/Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (4 Year) or equivalent in Supply Chain or Operations Management, Business, Engineering or Other
• CIPS qualified preferred but not essential
• Minimum of 4-6 years applicable experience in procurement
• Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Programs
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
• Understanding of lean enterprise principles and practices
• Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting objectives
• Ability to build trust and demonstrate a high level of integrity
