Job summary

ATG Productions is recruiting for the position of Sound No.1 to join the backstage team for a touring production of a 3-hander comedy. Rehearsals will be in London from 4 January 2027, with tech week starting 25 January 2027.

As Head of Sound, you will work with the Associate Sound Designer to meet the sound requirements for the production, operate the production during rehearsals and performances, and manage the sound department across load-in and get-out at each venue.

Responsibilities

• Working with the Associate Sound Designer to achieve the sound requirements for the production and the overall manner in which it is to be presented on the stage, including operating the production throughout technical rehearsals and performances, and managing the rest of the sound department.
• Load-in and get-out duties: completion of the load-in ahead of the first performance day and the get-out following the final performance at each venue.

Those normally expected of a Head of Sound on a first-class touring production, as such expression is usually understood. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

Working with the Associate Sound Designer to achieve the sound requirements for the production and the overall manner in which it is to be presented on the stage, including operating the production throughout technical rehearsals and performances, and managing the rest of the sound department. Your duties will include completion of the load-in (joining from morning of the first performance day) ahead of each first performance, as well as get-out following the final performance at each venue.
