Job description

You will be an effective member of the Gynaecology Ultrasound team. You will provide the highest standard of Gynaecology Ultrasound service to patients in our expanding Non-Obstetric Ultrasound Service, working autonomously in a community setting.

The role will be Monday to Friday

Main duties of the job

You will maintain a high standard of ultrasound examinations, ensuring quick and efficient service while adhering to quality standards. You will perform Gynaecology scans, ensuring patients are sent home with minimal delay.

Job responsibilities

• Assist other Sonographers in maintaining service quality.
• Perform regular quality control tests and report malfunctions.
• Ensure patient welfare and comfort at all times.
• Collaborate with the Referral Management Centre to provide written reports to GPs within 2 days of appointments.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Postgraduate certificate or diploma in Medical Ultrasound, or a College of Radiographers certificate/diploma, or an equivalent international qualification.

Experience

• Performed and reported on at least 900 ultrasound scans in the past 12 months, maintaining CPD as per guidelines.
• Meet the National Occupation Standards for imaging.
• Fluent in English or have passed a suitable English language exam.
• Registered with HCPC/SOR as a UK sonographer.
