Job summary

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Sonographer to join the Radiology department and contribute to a diverse ultrasound service across general, vascular, musculoskeletal, interventional and paediatric studies.

The post supports weekend service and requires flexible working across sites including The James Cook University Hospital, Friarage Hospital and other Teesside sites. HCPC registration and postgraduate ultrasound qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Evidence of ultrasound imaging experience across general, vascular, musculoskeletal, interventional and paediatrics.
• HCPC registration or equivalent regulatory body.
• Postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound required.
• Leadership/development programme attendance (4.5 days) requested.
• Masters in Medical Ultrasound preferred.

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Radiology department at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a Band 7 Sonographer to work within the fantastic ultrasound team where a variety of work is undertaken. We provide ultrasound scans in the following areas: general, vascular, musculoskeletal, interventional and paediatrics.

There will be an expectation of collaborative working across the Tees Valley. The successful candidate will join the ultrasound rota for STHFT and work across all ultrasound service sites, including CDC sites. Successful candidates will be an employee of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and managed as per the governance arrangements currently in place for Radiology and the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The Radiology Department has multiple ultrasound scanners on several sites including The James Cook University Hospital. Friarage Hospital, One Life, Redcar Primary Care, Guisborough and Stockton sites. A weekend service is also provided at James Cook site currently.

Experience

• To have evidenced experience within ultrasound imaging areas

New Starters – Probationary Period

For any new employees commencing employment with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period.
