Job summary

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join the Ultrasound Service. Band: £49,387 - £56,515 Per annum pro rata

Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sonographer to join the Ultrasound Service at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

As a qualified Sonographer and registered healthcare professional, you will work as an autonomous practitioner, performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and providing accurate and timely reports.

The role involves working across multiple sites, including our two Community Diagnostic Centres, and undertaking a varied caseload across obstetric, gynaecological and general medical ultrasound services.

The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development of ultrasound services, support service improvement initiatives, and maintain high standards of patient care while working collaboratively with colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.

You will hold a UK CASE-accredited postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and have experience across obstetric, gynaecological and general medical ultrasound. You will have specialist knowledge of a broad range of ultrasound procedures and practices and be confident managing your own workload, reporting examinations independently, and working in line with relevant national imaging standards and best practice guidance.

You will be committed to continuous improvement and demonstrate a strong alignment with the values of Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Two years' recent NHS experience is desirable, alongside a flexible, patient-centred approach to care.
