Sonographer

We are seeking a Band 7 Sonographer to join our friendly team at either Hillingdon Hospital or Mount Vernon Hospital. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your ultrasound skills and participate actively in departmental operations.

Ideal candidates will be motivated, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to providing high-quality patient care. Main duties of the job
  • Perform patient scans and produce independent reports according to departmental guidelines;
  • Contribute to the training of student Sonographers, registrars, and trainees;
  • Participate in department management, audits, and clinical governance;
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and colleagues regarding examinations and results;
  • Engage in continuous personal development and assist in training others, identifying training needs to the Lead Sonographer;
  • Plan and prioritize workload to ensure efficient service delivery, minimizing waiting times, and maintaining high standards.

Person Specification
  • HCPC/SVT/RCM registration
  • BSc in radiography or Midwifery
  • Experience in scanning abdominal, gynecological, obstetric, small parts, DVT, carotid, and vascular scans in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Participation in clinical audits
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and General Medical Ultrasound
  • Additional CPD courses
  • Experience in diagnostic MSK, Head and Neck, or Paediatrics scanning
Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This position requires a DBS check in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Salary ranges from £51,883 to £58,544 per annum, including HCAA, plus an annual R&R payment of £5,000.
