Job summary

Sulis Hospital in Bath seeks a Sonographer to join a busy imaging department, supporting the Radiology Lead and providing clinical leadership. You will perform a range of ultrasound examinations in line with departmental protocols and maintain high standards of patient care.

DBS clearance is required, and the role offers varied shifts as a part-time, permanent position. Applicants should hold HCPC registration and a radiography degree or equivalent, with at least two years post-registration

Qualifications

• Registration with HCPC and appropriate radiography degree or equivalent.
• Post-registration ultrasound qualification or diploma.
• Evidence of CPD and ongoing professional development.
• 2+ years post-registration experience in ultrasound imaging.
• Experience in abdominal, pelvic, gynecology and small parts.
• Experience with NHS ultrasound services and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out agreed ultrasound examinations per departmental protocols.
• Provide clear clinical leadership within the imaging team.
• Maintain patient records and workload reporting as required.
• Accurately interpret and report ultrasound findings independently.
• Contribute to governance, audits and quality control within the dept.

Job description

Sulis Hospital is looking for a Sonographer to join our busy, friendly imaging department. You will support the Radiology Lead and provide clear clinical leadership in accordance with professional and department protocols., The successful candidate will work as part of a team providing a high-quality ultrasound service at Sulis Hospital. To carry out agreed ultrasound examinations in accordance with departmental protocols. Maintaining a high standard of patient care and professional conduct and to assess and report own specialised workload, maintaining records as per departmental protocols., Part Time 22.5 hours, Permanent. Various shift patterns. This role will require DBS Clearance If you have energy, excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and attitude with commitment to deliver and improve patient care then we would like to hear from you. • DCRR, or BSc Undergraduate Degree in Radiography, or equivalent.
• HCPC Registration
• PGDip in Ultrasound / CASE accredited Post- Graduate diploma / DMU in medical Ultrasound
• Evidence of CPD
• At least 2 years post- registration
• Experience in abdominal and pelvic scanning, including gynecology, all general US and small parts.
• Experience of NHS ultrasound services
• Use of Radiology Information System and PACS
• Wide range of clinical skills.
• To accurately interpret and report on ultrasound examination independently
• Relevant Organisational skills in a Radiology / Ultrasound Dept.
• Adaptable IT Literacy
• , Evidence of post-graduate education eg, MSc
• Teaching experience, demonstrating a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference by focusing on goals.
• DVT scanning
• Evidence of clinical governance work including audits and quality control.
