Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Hampshire is seeking a professional Sonographer to perform a broad range of ultrasound examinations across our sites, including General Abdominal, Gynaecological, Small Parts, Musculoskeletal, Vascular and Neonatal Hip. Inpatients and outpatient work are included; obstetric scans are managed elsewhere.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations: General Abdominal, Gynaecological, Small Parts, Musculoskeletal, Vascular, Neonatal Hip and Inpatients.
  • Support the training of student Sonographers and contribute to service development across HHFT sites.
  • Work across all HHFT sites and participate in the Community Diagnostic Centre at Andover.

Job description

We undertake a variety of examinations for ED, inpatients, outpatients and GP patients including urology, baby hips, MSK, vascular, gynae and soft tissue. We also offer ultrasound access for ambulatory services such as Stroke and Same Day Urgent Care. As a member of our busy and dynamic department you would be encouraged to be involved in performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including General Abdominal, Gynaecological, Small Parts, Musculoskeletal, Vascular, Neonatal Hip ultrasound examinations and Inpatients, please note that this post does not include Obstetric Ultrasound as this is run by a separate Department. We recently opened a community diagnostic centre at Andover and as part of the role, you will be expected to participate in student Sonographer training and support the service as it develops.

  • Qualifications:PgD in Ultrasound or equivalent, HCPC registration or voluntary registration, and the ability to travel between our sites. You will be expected to work across all 4 HHFT sites.
