Job description

Do you dream in vintages, vineyards, and varietals?

Are you a wine lover looking to deepen your knowledge—or already a sommelier ready to share your expertise in a stunning, guest-focused setting?

Are you the one who really makes a guest's experience?

At RED Hotels, our wine team is all about connection. Our sommeliers bring warmth, depth, and personality to every interaction—whether it’s a welcome glass on arrival, a bespoke wine pairing at dinner, or a parting recommendation for the journey home.

We champion winemakers who care: old-world, small-scale, organic producers who align with our ethos of sustainability and craft.

What makes a RED Sommelier?

  • Are you passionate about wine and guest experience in equal measure?
  • Do you believe that the best wine stories start with people?
  • Are you excited to create unforgettable, personalised moments for every guest?

You will work across both Scarlet and Bedruthan hotels, guiding guests through curated wine lists, leading tastings, and creating a relaxed but refined atmosphere. Whether you’re WSET qualified or just starting out, we will support your growth with training and development.

What will you be doing?

  • Creating bespoke wine pairings and experiences for dinners and events
  • Leading small group tastings and engaging conversations about wine
  • Guiding guests through a list of 150+ old-world wines rooted in sustainability
  • Providing warm, attentive service from arrival to departure
  • Supporting wine education within the Food & Beverage team
  • Developing your wine knowledge through training and qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • Passionate about wine—whether experienced or eager to learn
  • Curious, confident, and able to connect authentically with guests
  • Warm and thoughtful in your service approach
  • Excited to work with ethical, environmentally conscious wine producers
  • Calm under pressure and flexible to work across both hotels

Why join us?

At RED Hotels, we do things with heart. We’re a family-owned Cornish business focused on creating soulful experiences—for our guests and our team.

When you join us, you will receive:

  • £13.08 hourly pay (£27,206.40 PA) plus tips and service charge sharing
  • A permanent, 40-hour weekly contract
  • 28 days holiday per year (29 after one year)
  • Training, WSET qualifications, and internal progression opportunities
  • Long service scheme—enjoy a complimentary stay at Bedruthan after your first year
  • 40% off food and drink when visiting as a guest
  • Local partnership discounts
  • Health Shield Healthcare Plan
  • A people-first, growth-oriented working environment

Help us tell the stories behind every bottle and create guest moments that linger long after the last glass. This is more than a job. It’s a journey in wine, service, and connection.

At Red Hotels, we believe in unity—working as One Team, where every contribution matters. Every team member must be ready to support operations whenever needed. Whether during busy periods or unforeseen challenges, we rise together. Our strength is our collective spirit: a willingness to help and a commitment to seamless teamwork. These values form the heart of our culture and the foundation of our success.
