Job Role: Support worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support worker / Healthcare assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker must have at least 6 months experience in care and be compassionate.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Worker help with the day-to-day care of patients, either in homes, hospitals or in patients' own homes. They are vital members of the team in hospitals, care homes, and clinics.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you would work under the supervision of nursing staff alongside other Healthcare Assistants.

Your duties could include:

• Helping patients wash, shower, or dress
• Serving food or assisting with eating
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around if difficult
• Assisting with toileting and collecting bedpans
• Keeping the ward or home tidy
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your daily work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you may assist in training new healthcare assistants.

We also supply staff to the NHS and private sectors, including nurses, general nurses, RGNs, nurse band 5 and 6, HCAs, community nurses, and specialist nurses in areas like A&E, Endoscopy, and Theatre.
