How does this role contribute to our collective success?

This position involves coordinating and calculating the Technical Provisions for the various regulated Insurance and Reinsurance companies of AXIS Capital. A key part of the role will also be delivering data-driven insights and developing comprehensive reports and presentations ensuring both regulatory compliance as well as enhancing decision-making processes.

What will you do in this role?
  • Coordinate and calculate the Technical Provisions for the varying legal entities of AXIS Capital (including Ireland, UK and Bermuda).
  • Coordinate streamlining of the calculation, providing insight and automation to the calculation model and process.
  • Manage and calibrate the Technical Provisions assumption setting cycle.
  • Coordinate and produce Technical Provisions inputs to the Quantitative Reporting and National Specific Templates.
  • Assist in communicating Technical Provisions results and drivers of change and contribute to the creation of detailed regulatory reports and presentations.
  • Work closely and provide Technical Provisions inputs to the capital modelling team including Technical Provisions projections for business planning and stress and scenario testing.
  • Liaise with external auditors and consultants in their review of Technical Provisions

What you need to have:

A person in this position should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Industry experience with advanced knowledge of the calculation of Technical Provisions ideally with an EU or Lloyds based regulatory background.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, SQL Server, Power BI capabilities; additional experience with Tableau, and/or Oracle or similar applications is a plus but not essential if there is a willingness to learn.
  • Qualified/near qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent.
