Job summary

Yorkshire Building Society is seeking a Financial Crime Solutions Lead to drive data-driven FC Customer Solution strategies and rules in 1st line risk management. Based at Bradford Head Office with flexible home working.

You will lead delivery of FC solution strategies through data mining, analysis and SME input, defining controls, monitoring performance, and mentoring the team while liaising with risk, compliance and IT.

• FC Solutions delivery, evidencing to Risk Appetite, Typologies / MO’s and expected operational volumes.
• Applying model risk management principles where relevant, ownership of the continuous monitoring program for relevant FC technology controls.
• Define key data variables for statistical approach, reporting key risks & issues.
• Mentor and support the development of data analysis capabilities within the Team.

Job description

We’re looking for a Financial Crime Solutions Lead to be the driving force behind our data-driven FC Customer Solution strategies and rules, within 1st line Financial Crime risk management. You’ll be our go to FC Solution SME for Prevention & Detection of Fraud & AML, using data analysis for translation of complex typologies & Modus Operandi into defined rules & controls.

This role will be based in our Bradford based Head Office, with flexible working from home capability.

About the role

This is a high impact role where you’ll lead our delivery of the FC Customer solution strategies through data mining, portfolio analysis, statistical analytics and Financial Crime solutions SME. Some role responsibilities include:

• Drive continuous improvement in FC solutions and controls
• Defining, managing and evidencing effectiveness of the Fraud & Financial Crime solutions, utilising the solutions controls including algorithms, configurations, models & rules
• FC Solutions delivery, evidencing to Risk Appetite, Typologies / MO’s and expected operational volumes
• Applying model risk management principles where relevant, this role includes the ownerships of the continuous monitoring program for relevant FC technology controls, ensuring they remain effective whilst demonstrating model development and governance
• Define key data variables for statistical approach, reporting key risks & issues
• Mentor and support the development of data analysis capabilities within the Team

About you

• A proactive mindset with a passion for delivering & controlling data driven solutions.
• Analytical & problem-Solving skills, strong data analysis, investigative, and risk assessment capabilities.
• Excellent knowledge of Financial Crime solutions algorithms, configurations, models & rules for Detection & Prevention of Fraud & Financial Crime, whilst balancing customer impacts
• Utilise best practice statistical, analytical and modelling techniques to perform complex analysis of the Financial Crime Risks, to enable proactive prevention and detection, calibration & optimised tuning of financial crime technologies
• Experience in using SAS / SQL for analysing complex data sets / large sets of data
• An understanding of the financial services industry, markets and competitors is a bonus (not essential)
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance, corporate governance and risk management
• Effective communication, engagement skills and the management of internal and external stakeholder relationships.
