Job summary

Recruit 2 You is seeking Applications Engineers – Mechanical & Electrical Bias based in Ripley, Derbyshire. You will review customer specs, develop solutions and prepare proposals for UK and international projects.

The role covers mechanical and electrical disciplines, involves cost estimation, tender preparation, and close collaboration with customers and suppliers. Salary £30,000–£50,000 DOE with bonus, pension and healthcare options.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' relevant experience within Applications Engineering or technical sales.
• HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background with industrial experience.
• Ability to interpret technical specs, drawings and data sheets.
• Excellent communication and customer liaison skills.
• Willingness to travel and drive.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications, drawings, schematics and data sheets.
• Develop engineering solutions in response to enquiries.
• Produce calculations and supporting technical documentation.
• Support estimating, costing and tender preparation.
• Attend customer meetings and provide technical support throughout the sales process.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure practical solutions.
