Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking a Solutions Architect with a security mindset to shape our technology landscape. You’ll design end-to-end, scalable solutions across complex environments, embedding security by design from day one.

In a hybrid role, you’ll collaborate with product and engineering teams, balance risk and usability, and drive architectural governance across delivery lifecycles while championing API-led design and cloud-native patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end technology solutions aligned to enterprise architecture, strategy, and target-state capabilities.
• Partner with product owners, delivery leads, and engineering teams to turn complex requirements into clear, actionable designs.
• Guide and influence architectural decisions, balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability.
• Provide architectural governance and assurance across the delivery lifecycle.
• Identify risks, trade-offs, and opportunities to improve simplicity, reuse, and coherence.
