Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a Lead Power Platform and Solution Architect to drive strategic projects including business applications, digital transformation, and software development initiatives. You will define architecture, governance, and integration strategies across Power Platform, Azure, and enterprise systems.

You will collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and project teams to translate requirements into scalable, secure solutions, ensuring alignment with standards and roadmaps.

Job Description

• Act as the lead Power Platform and Solution Architect, or work alongside other architects, on strategic projects including business application, digital transformation, procurement and software development initiatives.
• Work with business analysts, product owners and project team members to understand business requirements and facilitate the definition of functional and non-functional requirements.
• Review and design solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse and Copilot Studio, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, supportable and aligned with organisational standards.
• Define Power Platform architecture and governance covering environment strategy, security, identity and access, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), custom connectors, application lifecycle management, monitoring and operational ownership.
• Design solutions that meet business requirements and involve collaboration across applications, integration, data, security, cloud and infrastructure architecture domains.
• Assess solution requirements and determine when the appropriate technology and when Power Platform, Microsoft, Azure or custom-development capabilities should be used.
• Design integration between Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure services and other enterprise applications using appropriate integration patterns and APIs.
• Present wider solution designs to architecture governance forums for review and approval.
• Support enterprise architects in the development of architecture roadmaps, business applications and associated technology platforms.
• Manage relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders, acting as a trusted architecture adviser throughout the solution lifecycle.

Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, with strong knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse, together with experience of Power Pages and/or Copilot Studio.
• Strong understanding of Power Platform architecture and governance, including environment strategy, security, Data Loss Prevention policies, connector governance, application lifecycle management and operational considerations.
• Proven experience in broader solution design and architecture, delivering technical solutions to business requirements across technology layers including user experience, applications, integration, data and cloud services.
• Experience of Microsoft Azure platform services and understanding of how Power Platform solutions integrate with Azure, Microsoft 365 and wider enterprise technology environments.
• Ability to evaluate business requirements and determine when Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure services or custom development represents the appropriate architectural approach.
• Effective interpersonal skills and experience engaging with senior business and technology stakeholders, including facilitating architecture and solution-design discussions.
• Ability to produce concise and accurate high-level solution designs, architecture decisions and supporting documentation that align with architecture governance processes, technology strategy and business requirements.
• Experience defining and working with non-functional requirements including security, availability, performance, scalability, resilience and monitoring.
• Experience presenting designs through Architecture Review Boards, Technical Design Authorities or equivalent architecture governance processes.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and its relationship with Dataverse and the wider Power Platform ecosystem.
• Experience with Azure integration technologies such as API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus and Event Grid.
• Experience with Power Platform Centre of Excellence approaches and enterprise adoption and governance of low-code solutions.
• Strong experience architecting secure integration with external systems and services, with particular focus on identity and access management, secure connectivity, trust boundaries, and managing security risks associated with third-party services and dependencies.
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio and the governance of AI-enabled applications and agents.
• Experience defining current-state, transition-state and target-state architectures and contributing to technology roadmaps.
• Experience working within regulated environments.
