Platform Solutions Architect (GCP, SDLC) – Bank – London

Duration: 6 months

Start: ASAP

Hybrid: 3 days on site

My banking client is seeking a Platform Solution Architect on a contract basis. They require an engineering expert with an agile mindset, responsible for delivering high-quality software across all SDLC phases. The candidate should have deep experience in enterprise-level modern architecture, robust software engineering practices, and cloud adoption. Collaboration with senior clients across technology and business domains, as well as delivery and consulting teams, is essential.

Your Impact:

1. Understand financial services clients’ business outcomes and help define future/evolutionary architecture, transition states, technology choices, and operating models.
2. Drive enterprise-scale engineering transformation to enable growth initiatives and enhance customer experiences.
3. Rearchitect client monoliths into scalable, microservices-based digital platforms.
4. Contribute to best engineering practices, mentor, and inspire a diverse engineering team.

Designing and building transformative solutions will be your passion. As a Platform Solution Architect, you will serve as a technical expert in software design and architecture, upholding high engineering standards and providing leadership and motivation.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in defining end-to-end enterprise architecture.
• Proven experience in leading large-scale, complex, distributed applications, especially Cloud-native solutions on GCP.
• Strong knowledge of software design concepts like Event-driven Architecture, Microservices, Domain-driven design, SOLID, DRY, SoC.
• Background in developing large-scale distributed systems with languages such as Java, C#, Go, Scala, Python.
• Hands-on experience with frameworks like Spring Boot, Node.js.
• Exposure to frontend frameworks like React, Angular.
• Experience with API styles including Async API, REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, and understanding of data solutions like OLAP, OLTP, graph, NoSQL.
• Experience with containers and platforms like Docker, GKE, AKS.
• DevOps and automation skills including CI/CD, observability, logging, and metrics.
• Knowledge of Quality Engineering practices such as automated testing and Test Pyramid.
