Summary

Do you have experience providing Solution Architect expertise on a large scale Data Warehouse project?

This consulting opportunity is to support our client, a leading insurance company, in building out their new Data Warehouse system, ultimately migrating data from the legacy systems to the new warehouse focused on managing business intelligence analytics within areas such as marketing.

The project needs a consultant who:

• Has extensive experience in AWS Solution Architecture – in particular Step Functions, EventBridge and ECS serverless
• Has a strong working knowledge of Snowflake
• Can work across and oversee the Data Engineering group to build out pipelines
• Previous experience of DBT is also highly desirable.

Key services:

The key services that you will be asked to provide are:

• Ensure the solutions developed and deployed are fit for purpose, meet the business requirements and adhere to quality standards.
• Provide input into project plans and support business case production.
• Identify issues and risks and lead their resolution as required.
• Clearly communicate solution designs, key design decisions and approaches to interested parties, stakeholders, project bodies and relevant governance / assurance forums, including the Technical Design Authority (TDA).
• Oversee solution development, including implementation engagement as needed.
• Apply knowledge of technology options and survey the external market landscape for solution insights, direction, and vendors.
• Undertake analysis of technology solution alternatives with associated benefits, costs, and risks; conduct gap analysis, with proof of concepts.
• Retain accountability for architecture and design throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that the delivered solution is compliant with its original design.
• Manage the production of Key Decision Documents and apply appropriate governance processes to the approval and implementation of recommendations.
• Assess and select packaged solutions in partnership with the business, IT procurement and Managed Service Providers.
• Produce IT review documents to ensure that due diligence is performed when selecting a specific solution and operating model.

Mandatory Requirements:

Successful consultants will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Extensive experience in AWS Solution Architecture – Step Functions, EventBridge and ECS serverless
• A deep knowledge of Snowflake
• Knowledge of DBT
• Experience with containerised, serverless architectures
• Experience of working within an agile scrum methodology
• Understanding of InfoSec principals; experience of designing and implementing secure systems; DevSecOps best practices

Optional Requirements:

It will also be advantageous if you have:

• Insurance Industry experience
