Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Have expertise in solution architecture and at least one IT Architecture domain (Business, Application, Information, Technology, Security).
  2. Lead software/product evaluation and selection according to Software Requirement Process requirements.
  3. Use Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Solution Architecture (SA) tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect and LeanIX.
  4. Write and present clear technical proposals with objectives, costs, and benefits.
  5. Design large or complex systems with enterprise integration patterns, interface design, messaging models, APIs, and loose coupling architectures.
  6. Define and develop Agile Architecture within a Product Team and an Agile Release Train.
  7. Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture Team on Architecture Runways for Sprints and Enabler Epics.
  8. Review other system designs for technology selection, resource efficiency, and system integration.
  9. Develop solution designs within frameworks and tooling and get approval from the Architecture Review Board.
  10. Evaluate and analyze major design options and manage risks.
  11. Support the Application Architecture manager in setting principles, standards, and technology strategy aligned with business strategy.
  12. Follow UK Architecture principles, guidelines, and reference architectures in high-level designs and feasibility papers.
  13. Ensure system design balances functional, service quality, and system management options.
  14. Contribute to the architecture community of practice.
  15. Design integrated digital solutions.

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject.
  • TOGAF, CISSP, or Cyber Essentials certifications are advantageous.
  • Cloud certifications are advantageous.

  • Experience with development styles like Agile, TDD, SCRUM, etc.
  • Knowledge of service orchestration, middleware solutions, and integration platforms.
  • Web services experience (JSON, SOAP/XML).
  • DevOps toolchains knowledge.
  • Networking protocols understanding.
  • BI and Data Warehousing techniques experience.
