Alibaba Cloud International is expanding in the UK! We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our talented team based in London. The Solutions Architect (SA) is a key pre-sales technical position in Alibaba Cloud's international business division. Our solution architects are experienced cloud architects with comprehensive IT knowledge and industry insight and are, ultimately, the key to success in implementing projects. Solutions Architects are responsible for developing solutions in Alibaba Cloud and helping customers and partners to develop their applications and services on the Alibaba Cloud platform.

Responsibilities:

1. Market Insights & Competitive Analysis
   • Output market insight analysis report of segmented fields based on demand information such as market development trend, market space, core scenarios, and pain points in the segmented fields.
   • Collect competitive information, and give differentiated competitive solutions through the analysis of strategies and scenarios of competing pairs in competitive projects.
2. Business Opportunity Identification & Pre-sales Guidance
   • Responsible for the pre-sales guidance of key decision makers of the customer, using the customer's language to start a dialog, gain trust, explore the real needs of the customer, and form effective business opportunities.
   • Deeply explore the customer's business technology status and development trend, and establish complete and accurate customer business technology documentation.
3. Solution Design & Promotion
   • Produce targeted solutions according to customer needs, develop correct product selection strategy, POC test strike strategy, bidding & bid strategies, product configuration strategy, etc., achieve contract signing, and continuously ensure the increase of Alibaba Cloud's market share in this customer.
   • Promote the incubation and replication of public cloud solutions in segmented fields.
   • Timely identify and deal with risks of the technology and project during the solution landing process, collaborate with the product team and delivery team for normal fulfillment, and achieve revenue conversion.
4. Capability Accumulation & Empowerment
   • Accumulate knowledge documentation such as universal cloud architecture templates, best practices, and cases for the segmented fields/scenarios.
   • Provide presentations, evangelism, and empowerment training for sales teams and eco-partners.
5. Product Requirements & Defect Feedback
   • Abstract and summarize product requirements and defects in segmented fields, promote product improvement, new product projects, and major functions launch, enhance product competitiveness.

Requirements:

1. A background in IT, computer science and/or cloud computing with a good understanding of networking, servers, storage systems, enterprise applications, and the cloud.
2. A minimum of 5 years experience working and consulting on enterprise cloud architecture design and a strong understanding of customer needs and requirements.
3. Expert knowledge and understanding of cloud architecture design, familiar with architecture methodology and practice in internet-based applications/websites. Must also be experienced with procedures and tools for application migration and cloud/virtualization/container solutions for enterprise customers.
4. Familiar and hands-on experience with one of the public Clouds covering IaaS and PaaS services.
5. Experience with one of the Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies.
6. Experience with Container/K8S and Serverless services and implementation, experience with SOA architecture design.
7. Experience with RDS like MySQL or PostgreSQL or others, and experienced with NoSQL like Redis or MongoDB or others.
8. Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop ecosystem is a plus.
9. Excellent writing, proof-reading, and editing skills. Able to create documentation that can express cloud architectures using text and diagrams.
10. Able to work under high pressure, a quick learner with a passion for cloud technology. Able to think strategically about businesses, products, and technical challenges.
11. Good communication skills, a good team player, and a professional attitude to work.
12. Candidate who has a professional Cloud Certificate from Alibaba Cloud or other Cloud vendors is preferred.
