Job summary

Smart Sourcer is seeking a Solution Architect for Retail to lead end-to-end designs across AI, eCommerce, POS, loyalty, OMS and ERP for global retailers. You’ll shape architectures for high-impact programs and collaborate with product, engineering and business teams.

The role combines client-facing delivery on site in London with remote work, a strong focus on enterprise-scale platforms, and opportunities to influence technology choices and standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Solution Architect in consumer-facing environments (retail, travel, hospitality, media or similar).
• Strong grounding in end-to-end application architecture across multiple domains.
• Experience with one or more retail-centric platforms such as eCommerce, payments, loyalty, PoS, order management, ERP, booking & reservations, buying & merchandising, warehousing, supply chain or fulfilment.
• Some exposure to AI within retail is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.

Solution Architect – Retail (AI, eCommerce, POS, Loyalty, OMS, ERP)

An outstanding opportunity to step into a high‑impact Solution Architect role with a global technology consultancy at the forefront of large-scale retail transformation. This organisation partners with many of the world’s best‑known retail brands, delivering modern, enterprise‑grade architectures across the full customer and supply‑chain lifecycle.

You’ll work on major programmes spanning eCommerce, payments, loyalty, ERP, order management (OMS), booking & reservations, point of sale (POS), buying & merchandising, smart warehousing, supply chain, and fulfilment. The work is varied, complex, and genuinely industry‑shaping.

What you’ll do:

What you’ll bring:

• 4+ years’ experience as a Solution Architect in a consumer‑facing environment (retail, travel, hospitality, media, or similar).

• Experience with one or more retail‑centric platforms such as eCommerce, payments, loyalty, PoS, order management, ERP, booking & reservations, buying & merchandising, warehousing, supply chain, or fulfilment.

• A background in software engineering or technical business analysis is a strong advantage.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with senior client teams.


• Ability to work on client sites in and around London 1–2 days per week, with the remainder remote.


• A relevant degree, ideally in Computer Science (or similar)
