Job summary

Consult is seeking a Solution Architect for a 6-month+ contract based in London or Glasgow, with hybrid working. The role requires SC security clearance and proven hands-on experience in solution architecture across large programmes and product environments.

You will drive technical strategy, define standards and reference architectures, and oversee cloud deployments with Azure/AWS/GCP or Oracle, including IaC and security governance.

• Strong cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP/Oracle) with security & IaC.
• Experience in enterprise collaboration solutions and real-time tech (WebRTC, SIP).
• Sound troubleshooting, networking, and monitoring across platforms.

Experience required

• Proven stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior leaders and drive technical strategy across large, complex organisations.


• Excellent communication skills, translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.


• Strong hands-on experience in solution architecture and technical design across programmes, projects and product-based environments.


• Demonstrable experience delivering solutions within Agile and Waterfall methodologies.


• Broad technical knowledge across Microsoft and Linux environments, including physical, virtualised and containerised platforms.


• Expertise in defining architecture strategy, principles, standards, roadmaps, target states and reference architectures.


• Strong cloud architecture experience across Azure, AWS, GCP or Oracle, including security, governance, automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).


• Practical experience designing, deploying and supporting enterprise collaboration solutions, including voice, video and messaging platforms.


• Good understanding of real-time communication technologies such as WebRTC, SIP, RTP/SRTP, encryption, federation, APIs and network performance considerations.


• Strong troubleshooting and infrastructure experience, including conferencing platforms, AV integration, Linux/Windows administration, monitoring, logging and packet analysis.
