Job description

The Role:

Agria Pet Insurance is a rapidly growing business with ambitious plans, and we are seeking a Solutions Architect to join our team!

You will be responsible for the technical delivery of projects and changes from inception to completion, focusing on product, pricing, and terms & conditions, collaborating with the wider team to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Working closely with internal teams and senior management to gather requirements and draft solution specifications, you will coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and partners to implement the final solution.

We value experience in .NET technologies, MSSQL database design, and TSQL for advanced data queries. We are looking for a seasoned Architect with a leadership mindset seeking a new challenge!

Our hybrid work model requires attendance at our Aylesbury office once a week, on Wednesdays.

What you’ll be doing:

Solutions Architect Responsibilities:

  1. Own the end-to-end technical solution for projects from discovery to implementation.
  2. Drive requirements gathering from a technical perspective, ensuring all business needs are captured and understood.
  3. Create detailed technical and functional specifications for internal use and third-party vendors, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  4. Implement and configure product solutions.
  5. Support build and test teams to meet timelines and quality standards.
  6. Host end-of-sprint demos for stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  7. Manage change and scope creep within projects.
  8. Ensure acceptance into service processes are followed after deployment.
  9. Support project close-down and lessons learned activities.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  1. Manage small to medium changes through to completion using a scaled-down project framework.
  2. Provide helpdesk support by triaging tickets and assigning them appropriately.
  3. Assist in technical development for in-house applications.
  4. Explore new technologies and solutions through research and development.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience as a Technical Architect or in a senior IT leadership role.
  • Proven involvement in complex technical projects, preferably with a software development background.
  • Advanced understanding of modern website architecture and web APIs.
  • Experience in MSSQL database design and TSQL queries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft .NET technologies.
  • Experience with automation and AI technologies.
  • Ability to understand complex technical processes and develop pragmatic solutions.
  • Track record of managing projects (Prince2 or equivalent certification is desirable).
  • ITIL 4 accreditation is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to peers and management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with senior leaders, vendors, and teams.
  • Proactive learner, enthusiastic about new technologies.
  • Experience across the full project lifecycle.
