Location: Warrington, Cheshire or Stoke Gifford, Bristol or Leicester, Leicestershire – Hybrid Working Arrangements

The role

As a Solution Architect, you’ll be at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant defence infrastructure programmes. You’ll help shape the technical solutions that support the maintenance of Astute Class submarines - critical to national security. This is a unique opportunity to work within a complex organisation, collaborating with government clients, programme partners and design teams to deliver innovative, secure and scalable solutions.

Day-to-day, you’ll be part of a growing digital team within our Major Infrastructure Projects business unit, contributing to a portfolio of medium to enterprise-scale projects.

  • Scoping functional and non-functional requirements and translating them into high-level designs
  • Defining system components, integration points and data flows using modern technologies and platforms
  • Presenting solutions to stakeholders through workshops, proposals and visual storyboarding
  • Leading technical delivery, resolving issues and managing risks through to deployment
  • Providing guidance to ensure solutions align with architecture strategies, standards and practices

This role is full time and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Solutions Architect:

  • Proven experience in technical architecture and solution design using tools like Sparx EA and frameworks such as ArchiMate
  • Experience with PLM, ERP, MRP and digital manufacturing systems
  • Strong understanding of security principles and governance
  • Background in regulated industries such as defence, aerospace or nuclear
  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering complex systems integration solutions

Qualifications for the Solutions Architect:

  • Relevant qualifications in technical architecture and solution design
  • Additional certifications in security or enterprise systems are advantageous

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
