Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to shape modern, secure and scalable Microsoft-centric solutions within a complex digital environment in Birmingham. You will influence technology decisions and work with senior stakeholders to deliver long-term business improvements.

• Experience in solution architecture across complex portfolios, spanning localised and enterprise-scale solutions.
• Proven track record in the analysis and design of end-to-end Microsoft-centric software solutions.
• Ability to work across multiple teams and projects to deliver practical, future-proof and evergreen solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Experience across business, data, application and technology architecture with governance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Build and document understanding of regulatory, operational and business systems (MS Dynamics, SharePoint, related integrations).
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and analysts to shape requirements and documents.
• Create roadmaps, briefs and designs to support efficient, cost-effective delivery.
• Contribute to architecture governance by preparing designs for review.
• Ensure robust end-to-end data flow across systems and reporting processes.
• Consider availability, performance, security, disaster recovery, and business continuity from outset.
• Support internal and third-party teams to deliver and assure solutions.
• Act as a technical point of contact for the solution landscape (design, integrations, deployment).
• Own technical components and track third-party evergreen updates.

What you'll be doing

• Build and document a strong understanding of regulatory, operational and related business systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, Dynamics 365 Finance, SharePoint and associated integrations.
• Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, business improvement teams, architects, project managers and business analysts to understand, shape and document requirements.
• Create roadmaps, project briefs, high-level and low-level designs, and user stories that support efficient, cost-effective delivery.
• Contribute to architecture governance by preparing designs for review and approval through relevant governance forums.
• Work with data, business intelligence and third-party teams to ensure robust end-to-end data flow across systems, reporting, publishing, archiving and retention processes.
• Ensure non-functional requirements, including availability, performance, security, remediation, disaster recovery and business continuity, are considered from the outset.
• Support internal and third-party development teams, project managers, environment management and DevOps teams to deliver and assure solutions.
• Act as a key technical point of contact for the overall solution landscape, with a particular focus on design, integrations, build, deployment and configuration.
• Take ownership of technical components, including tracking and mitigating third-party evergreen updates.

• Experience in solution architecture across complex portfolios, spanning localised and enterprise-scale solutions.
• Proven track record in the analysis and design of end-to-end Microsoft-centric software solutions.
• Ability to work across multiple teams and projects to deliver practical, future-proof and evergreen solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Experience across business, data, application and technology architecture, with an understanding of governance frameworks and delivery models.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical designs into business-focused outcomes with a strong focus on quality.
• Strong solution architecture design skills, including use of tools such as Visio or PowerPoint.
• Technical experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.
• Experience in a regulatory, legal or similarly complex organisation.
• Good presentation skills, including virtual and face-to-face delivery.
• Good understanding of agile delivery methods.
• A degree, relevant Microsoft certification or similar professional qualification.
• Experience with technologies such as Power Apps, Exchange Online, Azure B2C, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, SQL Server, Active Directory, Intune, Azure DevOps, Power BI or related Microsoft technologies.
