The Role

Team

The Data Architecture team sits within ITV's Central Data function, with the Head of Data Architecture reporting directly to the Chief Data & AI Officer.

The Central Data team is responsible for ITV's strategic data platform, building out a robust, scalable platform as well as a composable set of managed Data Products to empower the organisation to make accurate and informed data-driven decisions. The team also operates as a centre of excellence to the wider business, providing Data Architecture, Data Governance and AI Innovation leadership.

The Data Architecture team have a broad role involving the oversight and design of Data Products, publishing data principles and standards for the organisation, and building an enterprise model of ITV's data and integration landscape.

Main Purpose of Role

We're looking for a Solution Data Architect to work alongside our team of enterprise data architects and technical analysts to understand the data landscape of the organisation and to design and deliver a set of enterprise data products for use across the organisation, powering our analytics and machine learning initiatives.

In this role, you will tackle complex data challenges while helping to establish architecture and modelling standards across our strategic data platform.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure that proposed data solutions and models meet their requirements
  • Working alongside enterprise data architects and technical analysts to identify and document data sources, flows, and lineage
  • Collaborating with the data platform team and data product engineers to design robust and scalable data structures
  • Contribute to the organisation-wide conceptual Enterprise Data Model
  • Contributing to technical decision-making around tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns.

Minimum Criteria:

  • Must have proven experience in designing solution data architectures in a complex technical landscape, acting as the senior or lead architect in a significant programme of work
  • Proven experience in data modelling: translating conceptual to logical models, defining schemas & taxonomies in SQL and non-SQL environments
  • Demonstrable knowledge of data warehouse, data lakes, ETL/ELT, streaming pipelines, APIs, BI and analytics
  • Previous experience using modelling tools & notations for the creation of ERDs and DFDs
  • An understanding of data pipeline architecture and build patterns
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms, with hands-on experience of working on at least one
