Job summary

Comxps Ltd seeks an experienced Solution Architect for a government-aligned program in Wiltshire, four days on site per week. The role delivers enterprise-scale secure information systems, promoting interoperability across domains and robust documentation.

You will guide design, build, testing and handover with engineering teams, producing HLDs/LLDs and architectural decisions, while navigating regulated environments and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in solution architecture delivering complex infrastructure or secure information systems in the last 5 years.
  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale technical solutions end-to-end.
  • Strong ability to produce and maintain HLDs/LLDs and architectural decisions.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture principles and frameworks.
  • Experience in Defence or government or other regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of interoperability, federation concepts and information sharing.
  • Architectures that enable cross-domain information exchange.
  • Familiarity with data-centric security, policy-based controls and auditability.
  • Experience with IAM/FIAM/RBAC models and PKI concepts.
  • Ability to communicate with technical teams and senior leadership.

Job description

Location: Wiltshire - 4 days on site per week

Contracting Authority: Government Client
Contract Length: 01/10/2026 – 31/03/2028 (A total of 318days based on this start date. 108days until 31/03/2027 and 210days from 01/04/2027 – 31/03/2028)
Clearance: SC/DV

Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • At least 5 years demonstrable experience in Solution Architecture roles delivering complex infrastructure, networking, interoperability, or secure information systems within the last 5 years.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale technical solutions from concept through implementation and transition.
  • Strong experience producing and maintaining High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), architectural decision records, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Detailed understanding of enterprise and solution architecture principles and frameworks.
  • Experience designing secure solutions within Defence, Government or other regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of interoperability architectures, federation concepts, and coalition information-sharing requirements.
  • Experience developing architectures that support information exchange across multiple security domains.
  • Knowledge of Data Centric Security principles, policy-based information control, metadata-based handling controls, and auditability requirements.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), Federated Identity and Access Management (FIAM), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) models.
  • Strong understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), digital certificates, certificate trust chains, and associated cryptographic principles.
  • Experience conducting architecture assessments, technical risk assessments, and technology evaluations.
  • Experience working with engineering teams through design, build, integration, testing, and operational handover phases.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at both technical and senior leadership levels.
  • Experience delivering against challenging timescales within large and complex organisations.
  • Competency in MS Office Suite.
